CGA is Liverpool-based independent games publisher, creating and distributing quirky and inclusive releases for Steam, Nintendo, PlayStation, and Mobile. CGA Studio Games is the trading name of Onteca Ltd.

We are a game studio with a passion for making indie games that stand out by being eccentric, original, and memorable. Our team have many years of game development experience, some of which working for major studios such as Sony and Lucas Arts.

CGA games encompass a spiel of genres with retro arcade games, classic word games, cottagecore adventures, skills-based, educational driving simulations, and ‘trippy’ space romps. Where else can you chase a giant retro panda through space a la Back to the Future style in flying junked up classic cars?

CGA Studio (previously Onteca) has been making games since 2001. You might even remember one of our games that became a Wii cult favourite… Monsteca Corral, a fast-paced action strategy game with an IGN 7 out of 10.

Nintendo Life described Monsteca as a "Pikmin-like play that packs a punch" and Sean's Wii World complimented the game's unusual approach, stating "The whole experience immerses you in the game world which resembles an interactive art installation, so complementary is the look and sound".

Until 2015 CGA produced innovative top-tier Casual games and applications for mobile. Including Draw with Powertools which was Number 1 in Switzerland and Top 10 in 11 other countries, Santa Tracker which reached the Top 5 in the USA and UK in 2015 and Big Pub Quiz which was a Top 10 iPad Game in the UK in 2013. With unparalleled experience and expertise in innovative technologies, CGA has also produced interactive content for a wide range of clients, including the BBC, AMD and Intel.

During 2016 CGA expanded their portfolio to include PC games including Monsteca: Monsters vs. Robots and Space Ribbon, a party race game on Steam. CGA also put their experience into Health Care applications by developing Chill Panda with a clinical child psychologist; a "relax to win" game for anxiety reduction which is among the Top 5 Apps to Reduce Anxiety in Children.

Crazy Zen Mini Golf was in the top 5 highest selling games in America and the United Kingdom on Switch. They also celebrated their first PlayStation release which is compatible with Virtual Reality.

Over the past few years CGA has grown into their own as an indie developer and found their niche among creating retro arcade games such as Pinball and classic racing games. CGA has also utilised their expertise in emerging technologies such as digital twins to create educational games such as Virtual Driving School.

2022 marked CGA’s first release as a third party publisher with the release of Formula Retro Racing on Nintendo.
